This is a very special Adopt a Highway coming up! Every year, on the third Saturday in September, people join together at sites all over California to take part in the State’s largest volunteer event, California Coastal Cleanup Day. In 2014, nearly 67,000 volunteers removed more than 1,190,000 pounds of trash and recyclables from California’s beaches, lakes, waterways and byways. Our Adopt-a-Highway office has asked that we make a special effort to clean up our section of road at Julian. We will take a group photo to send in as well as our usual brunch afterward. The more of you that show up, the better the job and the better the publicity. Let’s set some more records!!
If you haven’t done our Adopt-a-Highway event before, it is very simple. We provide all the safety equipment, picker-uppers and bags. All you need to do is be there. We need in Julian at 7:30 AM, get our equipment and instructions, and head out for our sections of the road. We usually finish within two hours and have brunch in Santa Ysabel on the club. Our “thanks” for your participation. EVERYONE IS INVITED! Hope to see a big turnout on this particular California Cleanup Day. Please RSVP here by sending us your “booking” so we have an idea who is coming. (you must log in first to book this!)
Bookings are closed for this event.
